Hello, I had a problem like this, i'll describe it incase it's not exactly like yours.
My iPod shuffle would not sync, at all, I had taken my music off and couldn't put it back on!
that was the problem, and I looked online and someone said to delete all my music off of iTunes and add it back on, so I did, and it worked.
I hope this helps, and if it doesn't, goodluck fixing your iPods =)

Essentially something is wrong with that specific file you're transferring. This is call a Cyclic redundancy Check error: the computer tries again and again to do something (transfer music, etc.) but something prevents it from happening, so the computer/program gives up after a few attempts.

Either reload the music into iTunes, re-rip from CD, or try a 3rd party iTunes replacement program (not particularly recommended, but it's your music!)

I went through 2 new hard drives from apple before I figured this out.

Hope it helps!

Hi.. i have a similar problem .. i tried to sync a song onto my i pod nano and then this message suddenly came up saying "Cannot Be Synced. Unknown Error Occurred (-48)" And my song was on my library but when i disconnected the song it wasn't on my i pod and then i reconnected it again and the songs were off my library and there was an exclamation mark by 2 of my songs so i deleted them so i could like download them again but it was still on my i pod but it wouldn't play. Then i just checked if all my other songs were working and they were but their artwork had disappeared like nearly all of them and i have 150 songs.. what should i doooo???!!

It looks like with this version if you have a data disc in the DVD or CD it will try to open it and get this error.

Unfortunately whoever first started telling people that their files are bad and they need to delete it from the iPod is just wrong. Here's how you REALLY fix it: Restore your ipod, making sure to place it in disk mode. Wait for the ipod to sync, and when it starts freezing on a song, rapidly tap or hold play/pause until it starts syncing again. Your iPod isn't timed correctly with the computer and that's that's the reason for the error. pressing play will kick the iPod in the azz and make it line up with the process on your PC. You're all welcome in advance.

Well ignore them... deleting the file does work as I have literally just had the same problem and came here for help.
Used the comment about deleting the file it freezes on whilst syncing and now its fine.
So delete the file it freezes on and it'll work :)
