I have had repeated problems with my Linksys WRT54G. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop with a built-in wireless card, which runs XP, through a Westell modem. In part my problem, is that I am unable to communicate with the Linksys staff. Everytime I call them, it takes multiple hours, with no solution. Currently my set up is, wire running from wall to modem, from modem to Linksys, from Linksys to computer. After 5 hours on the phone with their tech support, my router worked wirelessly, however it stopped in like 10 min. From which point, I am only able to access the internet if there is a USB cable connected to my computer, which defeats the purpose of having a wireless router. I am able to use my computer on many networks and have had technicians set up this router in the past. I am fairly certain that it is not a problem with the equipment, rather the configuration. Can you tell me where to begin?
