Bios flashing to boot from usb

Hello,

I got a compaq armada m700-Piii-448MB-40 gig. I want to flash the bios to be able to boot OS from USB flash drive AND i want to completely remove the CD Drive and the HDD too !!

anybody PLEASE help !!

If not possible will i always need a startup boot disk. I use Linux.

Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello

When you say remove the CD and HDD I take it you mean remove them from the boot options. You should already have that in the BIOS.

If Compaq don't produce a BIOS for your machine that allows booting from USB then you are not going to get one.

Why do you need to boot from a floppy? Seems that you have made an error during installation and have installed the boot loader on a floppy disk instead of the hard disk
