5.1 surround sound

Hello, my surround sound wont work after headphone use i fixed it once and can't remember how when o go into the sound manager it says headphone when i change it to 5.1 it stil doesn't work neither does the speaker test any suggestions would be appreciated.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0
