IP CMD help!

Hello,
For few days ago, I used those 2 commands on CMD:

netsh int ip set address "local area connection" static 192.168.0.101 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.254 1

netsh int ip set dns "local area connection" static 192.168.0.254 primary

And after I used them on my brothers computer, his internet are not working! I have tried to fix it, but I can't, so can somebody please help me?! (It's a Windows XP)

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.10

Hi,

go to to command prompt and type ipconfig/renew to renew the ip address.

I have tried that, and it still wont work! When I type "Ipconfig /renew" in CMD, following is writing: "The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation." And I don't know what that means, so can somebody pleas help?!

You have to write "ipconfig /release" first

Same error ""The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation." is displayed even when "ipconfig /release " is typed i dono how to revert back becoz my internet conection getin lost when i try with netsh
