Peer to peer connection

Hello,
I climped a CAT 6 cable with rj 45s,with the crossover color code.Then
i connected the two machines.The status of the network shows connected.
The computers send ,but cannot receive packets of data.
What could be the problem ?

Configuration: Windows  XP

Make sure that you have crimped your cable properly. Please read the following article to have more information.

Have you created a shared folder (for file sharing) on both computers.
