My monitor is showing "No Signal". I have checked the obvious things like power etc.

I've also attached a friends monitor (which I know definitely works ok) and get the same thing.

There is definitely power to the tower but I did notice that the power indicator light on the tower was a constant red instead of the usual green/red flickering showing the computer is active etc.

I'm hoping it's just the graphics card and was wondering if there is a way of testing this baring in mind that there is no display on the screen?

Would much appreciate any help on this.

Many thanks
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

1. If the motherboard has onboard graphics, connect the monitor cable to the appropriate socket.

2. I suppose you could substitute a known good graphics card, BUT there is the possibility that the motherboard is faulty and that it could kill the graphics card, leaving you with two dead graphics cards.

When you try to boot up the computer, do you hear any beeps?

What should u do that reconnect all wires of hard disk which comes from motherboard. Better to reconnect the RAM also. And one more thing connection of all wires should be relevant place so before removing from motherboard remember the point of contact. It will help u. Now start the computer your monitor will work pretty fine as it is previous.

Hi..

Maybe it is the supply thread that is damaged? Have you tried to change it?!

I really really hope someone can help me with my problem.
Specs won't really make a difference on my problem I don't think, however its a top spec pc, (AMD quad core, 4gb ram, 320gb hd, gtx8800 etc etc)

Basically, my pc has been running fine for a good year since I've had it, well I say fine, it's sometimes slow, I think that is because of windows vista ultimate.

But ever since day one, it has taken a very long time to start up.
today, I get a major problem, I try switching on my computer, and there is no beep sounds, but the fans are running,
and the monitor says there is no signal.
I tried disconnecting and reconnecting everything, and nothing happened.
I really hope to god that overnight it fixes its self, I have many important files.
Please email me at owned.com@hotmail.com if you have any information or help.

Thanks again.

-Mark
