Hello,

Could anyone help me, we have the lsass.exe virus. We have had instructions to get rid of the virus but so far we are struggling. We were told on one of the forums that we needed to delete the avserve2.exe, however we can't get that far as the computer switches off before you can get into that file..so how do you delete avserve2.exe? with these limitations?

Process so far booting into Safe Mode..no problem
Options of Safemode with or without networking, debugging etc no problem

Computer shows the box containing the virus name and switches off again...big problem...Aghhhhh

I am losing my hair and my blood pressure has gone sky high.

Please email Dan danthedoor@hotmail.com

Many thanks
Dan

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.10

You need to cure it whit antivurus. If the process is unkillable type this in cmd ( Start run type cmd ) taskkill /f /im lsass.exe. If the system getts shutting down type this in cmd, cmd /k shutdown -a. Cure it.)

Something similiar to what you said go to command prompt and type in del avserve2.exe wich will delete the program if it exists on your computer. if u think the computer will shutdown type in shutdown -a.
if u need to uninstall it go to cmd and type in Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features
and uninstall it in the control panel.i hope this helped. :D
