Hello, i have same problem on my pc (since the system block my computer completely, i can't do anything. So, now I am using my school's computer to write this mail). I tried to several, but they didn't work at all. I am so sad and frustrated..... After starting up the pc, the "System Security protect your PC" shows up and doesn't let me do anything at all. It's automatically starting scanning, and says " your computer is infected 38 viruses and in danger. To remove them all from computer activate the security system now! " like that... what should I do. Please somebody help my computer and me!!!

Not sure if this will work, but it's worth a try. Take a look at this System Security removal guide:

Had a similar problem on a clients pc. best way is to print off one of the removal guides. (google system security / secure removal) visit one of the sites and print off removal guide. Boot computer in safe mode. Open regedit which is registry editor and remove values as stated in the guide. download and install malwarebytes which will detect and quarentine files / maleware programs. I reccomend downloading Kaspersky Antivirus and finding some licesnse keys online or purchasing it as it is one of the best anti virus programs ive used. install and download any updates. run a full system scan and that should fix the problem.

I recently suffered from this virus. i first of all had no idea that it was a virus and of course started running virus checks and deleting everything off my computer before being told what it was. luckily a friend of the family works in computer software, i was told to pull up windows task manage (ctrl alt delete) and click on "processes" there should be two processes that are a long line of numbers while the rest of the processes all have proper names. click the processes with the long line of numbers and stop the processes by clicking them and pressing delete. this will then remove the virus from your computer, once doing this, if you slide your mouse over the system security icon in the task bar it will dissappear, and you will be able to change your desktop background back to the background that you want.
just thought id post this incase its any help to any of you out there who had the same problem as me :)

The security2009 virus won't give me enough time to work (1 min) because it reboots again. How can make it so that the virus won't load after reboot. deleting or moving somthing i'm guessing?

Yeah, I have the same problem as Austin. PC Security 2009 runs, and it gives me about a minute before it reboots the computer. I can't use safe mode; it just reboots when I try to do that. Now I have no way to stop it from rebooting every time.

PC Security 2009 is considered to be a rogue program. This happens because of the following reasons:
Repeated alerts;
Obsessive requests to buy licensed program version;
PC scans every time you start the computer;
Ineffective computer virus removal.

removal instructions here: http://www.pcindanger.com/pc-security-2009-removal.html

Anyone know what to delete or move so that the security2009 virus doesn't load up everytime you reboot?
- I can't do any of the removal instructions because I don't have enough time before my computer will shut off again by itself. So I just need help on how to stop the virus from restarting my computer after 1 minute of rebooting.
- Thanks

I know how you can delete it: when you are on you're account open directly taskmanagement (or something like that im belgium so my english isn't good) then processes you see a process like 456212.exe stop it, and let you're firewall block all things so it can't be installed itself anymore ;)

So i did it.

I know a lot of the advice in this thread is garbage because I've had the same issue myself. First, I had this malware install itself without permission and then spread like wildfire. Booting into safe mode is useless because somehow this malware attaches itself to system files and loads even in safe mode. The software is also designed to lock you out of any part of Windows that can help you stop it... msconfig, services.msc, gpedit.msc, regedit, cmd, and services.msc are all blocked. Additionally, one cannot use task manager to defeat the process as it instantly closes itself every time it is loaded. Worse, is one cannot run any exe file, such as antivirus programs to defeat it.

There are only two tricks I've found to temporarily give yourself some room to work. One, go into Windows and the System 32 folder. Rename your taskman.exe to something else. You will then have access to run task manager and kill the numbered file (something like 993334454.exe) and stop the processes causing the problems. I seem to have two processes associated with the problem, one a numbered process and another an SD letter number combination. I have to kill both processes. Both of these reside in different folders. The first, the numbered files reside in your documents and settings, application data folder (hidden folder). Once the process is killed, delete the folder. The SD letter/number combination resides in your Windows/Temp folder. Clear the temp folder.

Now, use your run prompt to conjure msconfig. In the start-up tab, uncheck the numbered file and the SD/combo file if it exists. Apply and okay. You will be prompted for a restart, you may do so.

Here's the second part of what I noticed... This malware only seems to have the ability to spread when there's an active internet connection. For example, if you disable your ethernet card, it doesn't spread on your next start up (after following the above steps). Once the ethernet card is enabled, it starts to spread itself again. You can thwart these attacks by opening up your task manager killing the process and deleting the files/folders when they start to show up again. So far, it has kept the attack at-bay. However, I've still yet to find a way to kill the spread.

Here's what I've tried (so you don't waste your time):

Spyware Doctor (with a license): Finds the infection, claims to have removed it and yet it continues to spread.
Spysweeper: Found a portion of the infection, claims to have removed it and yet it continues to spread.
Spybot: Found Nothing.
Malwarebytes: Install and then disappears when you hit the scan button
Norton 2009: Installs and then will not run after restart

My final thoughts, the virus, even when not active, causes antivirus programs not to run after a reboot. If you do not reboot, these programs simply disappear. This is an intelligently engineered piece of malware that will require a versatile piece of software for removal. While it's not a hassle to the system at this time, it still leaves me open to further attack and I still have to waste my time killing processes and deleting folders to stop the spread.

If anyone has successfully rid their PC of this annoying plague, please feel free to describe what you did to do it.

Meanwhile, I hope my advice gives a few people some room to at least use their PC normally...
