Inbuilt Microphone not working

Hello, Please help.... When I use to chat with googletalk, my inbuilt microphone in laptop is not working . Neither I can listen the voice of the person on other side nor he can listen my voice. I tried to search possible solution on net and did some settings in g'talk but no result. However I can record my voice in computer's recorder

Configuration: Windows Vista
Safari , mozilla, google chrome
