Router configuration does not accept pwd

Hello,

I have a Linksys WRT54G router. i followed the instructions to install product software on the main PC. after the setup completed, i tried accessing the configuration tools at http://192.168.1.1/. however, the router does not accept the default password provided by linksys itself.

i have made sure that there is no fixed IP address entered for the network adapter.

any suggestions?

for those of u who have experience with this product - the setup software goes till step 8 where it tries to configure the pc and does not go further.

Configuration: Windows Vista
Internet Explorer 7.0
