Hai
with BIOS & know which settings will need to be corrected after the reset, it couldn't hurt. My guess would be a bad PSU. You called it "raid"...do you mean RAIDMAX? Their units are not very good, especially the ones that come preinstalled in a case. The 500W sells for about $25, that's about 1/2 the cost of a reliable/dependable name brand unit. When it comes to PSU's, you definitely get what you pay for. The green light on the board indicates that the PSU is putting out the +5v standby power. If you haven't already done so, try bypassing the UPS as was suggested above. If that doesn't work, unplug the power cord, open the case & unplug the PSU from the board (both the main ATX plug & the square 4-pin plug) & all other devices (HDD, optical drives, etc). On the main ATX plug, connect a jumper wire from the green wire to any black wire (a paper clip fashioned into a U-shape will do). Plug in the PSU & see if the fan within the unit spins up...if it doesn't, the PSU is most likely bad. However, if it does spin up, it doesn't necessarily mean the PSU is good. All you'll really know is it's putting out enough to spin a single fan...it may not be putting out enough wattage to power up a entire system. |
