Random Blue Screen Crash on new PC

gibsontom06, on Sunday 15 June 2008 à 11:31:34
Hello,

I'm looking for some help with a problem I have with my new system. I'm all out of ideas!

I just purchased a brand new system with the following specs:

Antec P182 Super Midi case
650W Antec Neo PSU
Intel Core 2 duo E6850 3.0GHz processor
4856 ASUS SKT-775 P5K WS S/L PCI-X Motherboard
4GB DDR2 1066MHz Ultra Dual Channel Kit CAS5
Seagate Barracuda SATA V 500Gb 7200rpm
Leadtek PX 8800 GTS 512MB GRaphics Card
Creative X-Fi Extreme Music sound card
NEC 7200 DVD writer x20 SATA (x2)
Viewsonic VX2255wmb 22" widescreen monitor

trouble is, I have been experiencing random blue screens and cannot find any solution. I have had it back at the shop but all the hardware is apparently fine. I have updated to XP service pack 2 and installed the latest drivers for the graphics card and the sound card. I'm still getting BSODs although they seem to be less frequent.

The STOP message i seem to be getting is

Stop: 0x0000000A

with

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

at the top of the page.

Bizzarly, I purchased the new computer because i was getting frequent STOP messages on my old machine. The only things that are constant with the 2 machines is the modem and the socket its plugged into but i've done some problem solving and neither of those seem to be causing it.

A colleague suggested removing one of the sticks of ram since windows is only recognising 3.25 GB. In one of the messages something was mentioned about the system trying to write to areas that dont exist or something. I have yet to try this idea.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am at my wits end.

Thanks in advance
Configuration: Windows XP
Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello

Are you using 4 sticks of RAM ? I would follow the suggestion of your colleague suggested and remove one of the sticks of ram, but just as a means of troubleshooting the BDODs, not because windows is only recognising 3.25 GB. I have the P5K motherboard, and though I'm not using 4 GB of RAM, the P5K forums seem to have many people posting problems with 4 sticks of RAM. Actually, you might try first removing two sticks of RAM. If this resolves the problem, the two sticks, if put in the correct slots, would allow you to run the RAM in dual channel mode.

Hellow there gibson something cant tell what!

I was browsing the same prob when i found your one with exactly the same error message that i have been getting for months.

Intemittant blue screen death with no apparent reason, I had exactly the same prob, it usually happened after i had been watching win tv for a while, i thought maybe it was the card.

Just two days ago I got another PSU to replace a noisey PSU at my mothers and i tried it out on my own one first.
I have not had another blue screen since, Early days i Know but i feel this maybe th answer.

Why dont you try a different PSU if you are able to.

Let me Know.

Yours

Mike.

heres a Tip, if you computer doesnt load up windows, if you can get the error code, like what i got -->

Technological Information: *** STOP: 0x000000024 (0x00190203, 0x81B582E8, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)

Go to you local "pc world" and tell them the code, they will happily tell you the problem for free.

the code above means = invald disk structure, basically means fucked and all stuff lost.

this was cause either by xps sp3 or when my computer froze and i had to turn it off.

I'm having a similar problem with the blue screen popping up too fast. So, I took my digital camera and took a picture! Just thought that might help you.
