When I switch my Dell Dimension 3000 with Windows XP on it doesnt go past the welcome screen. I turn it on to safe mode and restore. This works but then my virus updates and requests that I reboot the computer. I do this and it doesnt get beyond the welcome screen so I do all of the above again, At the moment the only way is for me to leave the computer switched on but as the restore point I have picked means that my virus protection is not up to date so I am afraid to check my emails. I cant stress enough that I have not connected any new hardware or software.
