I recently bought a Linksys WRT54G2 router to connect my home desktop computer(which has internet connection) to my new Dell Inpiron Laptop.

My computer has only one ethernet port on the back and to set up the router is says to connect the ethernet cable to the router then connect another cable to the router and ethernet port. I hooked the cable that came with the router to the router and to my internet Motorola Surfboard ethernet port and another cable to the Port 1 on the router and to the back of my computer tower ethernet port.

My laptop finds and connects to my router but I can't access the internet on it.

HELP!!!

I talked to someone from Best Buy(where I bought everything) and they said something about a network adapter. Will that help the problem??

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.10
