Hello,

HI, I used to watch movies using my cd rom however it was deleted from my file.My Mycomputer shows only "Local disk (C:). When I went to Device Manager and I click Device Manage CD/DvD rom drives states "This device is working properly." I alread went HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. This is your cd/dvd. In there you are looking for anything that says "upper filters" "lower filters". However there were no indication for upperfilter or lower filters there were no files to be deleted.

I need your help. Im not a computer wizard but I can follow instructions. I bought a webcam unfortunately the cd drive cant read the cd disc.

I cant wait to watch movies and use my new webcam. I hope you can help.

Thank ypu very much in advance

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

Open your start menu. Right click My Computer and select Manage. Within the Computer Management (Local) tree expand the Storage tree and then select Disk Management. This will show you your C:\ drive as DISK 0 and CD-ROM 0 with no drive letter. Right click CD-ROM 0 and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths." Select Assign the following drive letter and use D from the drop down menu. Close everything and reboot the computer.

I have another question? I have sunbroadband installed in my computer. You can see this at Devices with removable storage and it indicates "Sun Broadband (D:) Does it affect the installation if i change the path?

Probably not because this is a removable storage device. These types of devices change drive letter depending on the computer they are plugged into. I would not change the drive letter unless it is necessary. I previously mentioned to change the CD-ROM to D:\ just pick something that isn't in use.

Okay I have a few questions. A few things seem to have been lost here. The original question states that in your My Computer you only saw a C: drive yet your CD-ROM was visible in the device manager.

You just now stated that you see the A (floppy) C (hard drive) and D (sunbroadband) and E (removable).

Is the D your CD-ROM? If you eject your CD-ROM does sunbroadband go away and only leave D: ?

Also,
Anything you see in My Computer is not related to your Internet Connection. At least i've never come across anything where that would be the case.

Hi there!

Im afraid, let me clarify do I need to click change or add? Because there were a confirmation that states changing the driver letter of a volume might cause programs to no longer run.Are you sure you want to change this driver?

Im sorry, but i just need an assurance that my computer will run the same way as before. Pls help me.

Thank you very much.

Ah, I see.

Well, if I understand your problem correctly the CD/DVD drive does not show up in My Computer? This happens when a drive letter has not been assigned to a drive. The computer management console allows you to manually set the drive letter.

If the drive already appears in My Computer close the management console.
If the drive isn't there follow my instructions.

Just make sure you are not touching the C:\ drive. As long as you are changing the CD-ROM dvd it won't be a problem. If something were to happen you could always change it back. ;)

Sir / Ma'am

I really do apologize but the information states "change" not "add" . Im afraid my internet connection might be deleted . It indicates enter a new drive or path on a letter D which shows on Devices with removable storage. Does it affect the internet connection?

What I have listed on My Computer: For hard drive locak disk C:---and for devices with removable storage these are 3 1/2/ floppy disk (A); Sun Broadband (D:) and Removable disk (E:)

Please reply. Thanks

Hi Friend,

I already did it. The drive from sunbroad band was just change to the letter that i've selected earlier and nothing happens. On my media player, It shows no disc in drive F, eventhough disc has been placed already in the the cd rom player

What do you think the main reason why my cd rom cant read the disc that was being played?

Please reply. Thanks

Is it possible you are putting a DVD into a CD-ROM drive?

If in My Computer it says CD-ROM a DVD won't work in it.

If it is a DVD and it is a disc that was burned it's possible your drive can't read that type of disc (DVD-R or DVD+R). If you can, try putting the disc in another computer and see what happens.

HI FRIEND,

CD ROME IS STILL VISIBLE IN THE DEVICE MANAGER.AND IT STATES THERE THAT THIS DEVICE WERE WORKING PROPERLY. LET ME MAKE A STORY. MAYBE THIS TIME YOU MAY SEE THE PROBLEM WHY.

I HAD MY WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. I USED TO WATCH MOVIES ON THIS FILE JUST CLICKING THE CORRECT DRIVE HOWEVER THIS MEDIA PLAYER WAS DELETED FROM THE FILE AND THE PROBLEM STARTED HERE. THE FIRST THING THAT I ASKED FROM YOUR SITE IS FOR ME TO KNOW HOW HAVE MY AUDIO DEVICE WORK AND JUST ONE ANSWER FROM YOUR REP, I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTION AND GOOD THING I CAN USE NOW THE AUDIO DEVICE, HOWEVER THE FILE THAT COULD READ THE CD DISC WERE NO LONGER FOUND.THERES AN INFORMATION HERE ON MY MEDIA PLAYER WHICH SHOWS " NO DISC ON DRIVE F".

HAAY!!

HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU.THANKS AGAIN
