Hello,
I have two laptops running W2000 with the latest upgrades, and a desktop running XP Home. The Laptops can see each other, and the Desktop, but cannot access the Desktop's shared folders. I have verified names, workgroup name, set up static ip adresses, common dns lookup, etc. I am able to Ping all computers, and I can access files on each of the laptops, but I cannot access the XP machine even with the firewall disabled.
The machine is brand new, and nothing has been added in the way of software to the machine other than the original build from Dell (Office 2007). I am connected via a firewall router (no current access to the internet - no ISP yet). Any suggestions?

Can you access desktop from desktop? Use \\ip address\ in browser. From other computer use \\ip address Does desktop have a logon password? Try map drive. See small checkbox to logon as different user. Use desktops name and password. |
