Write protection removing

Hello,

i have 2gb pendrive when i format the drive the message show " the disk is write protected cannot format it"

then how to solve the issue.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

I have a Toshiba transmemory drive of 4 GB capacity. It is turned to be write- protected and it is not removed. How can I remove such write protection of this pen drive?
