Cant install xp pro on pre installed vista

Hello, every time i try to boot from xp pro disc i get a blue screen saying ...check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.

run chkdsk/f to check for hard drive corruption and then restart computer

stop: 0X0000007B

please help have a HP media ceter Pc m8075a

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi,
this seems to be a hard drive issue.
when booting your computer, press F8 repeatedly and select safe mode with command prompt.
then type chkdsk/f to check the hard disk for errors.
else you will have to get the hard disk replaced and reinstall windows.

The pre-installed Vista already has the driver for your SATA HDD but not XP CD. Someone suggests you go to BIOS Setup and change HDD type from SATA to IDE then you can install XP.

Changing the SATA setting in the bios to ATA worked. Thanks!!

Hi i do not find any option in the BIOS where in i can change my HHD type to IDE .Can anyonehelp me on this .
