I need help setting up online in the ps3

Hello,

I need help with getting online on a ps3 i tried wired connection and wireless connection and i have tried easy and custom but whatever i did it didn't work,I do not have router i want to do it without a router,i have comcast internet with modem.Please help me.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.10

If you do not have a wireless router you won't be able to connect, you can connect by ethernet!

So you cannot connect to the internet with a wired ethernet cable through the modem?????? please reply i need help
