You probably should have asked about that laptop BEFORE buying it. IMHO I think you overpaid. As a general rule Laptops are not very upgradable. You can't change the video card and probably not the CPU. You may be able to add more RAM. I doubt if it will increase performance though. If you are interested in doing the RAM, go online to crucial.com and use thier online scan to learn if you can add more RAM. |
I upgraded my dv8000 with 2 gb of memory, 250 gb hdd, and a 2.2 ghz processor... I run vista home premium on it and it runs like a charm. 10x better than when I had 512mb of memory, 80 gb hdd, and a 1.8 ghz processor. So upgrading is possible.. and not horribly difficult as long as you know what your doing.

More RAM is always better than less... both of the programs you are using will be be vastly enhanced when maximising your RAM capacity.... + RAM is getting cheaper |
