HELP ! I'm going crazy over the connection stuff.
My Compaq lappy was just sent to fix the IE connection problem, and it was done. The person there also did show me that the browsers are able to connect to the Internet and browse. But when i got home, the icon showed that I AM connected( which fixed my previous problem), but somehow i still can't browse.
Firefox shows : 'NETWORK TIMEOUT' - the site xxxx is taking too long to respond.......
Internet shows: 'Cannot find server'
I've read through some of the forums, most suggestion suggests that the firewall/anti-virus softwares should be removed, but i don't have any firewalls, except for 'windows firewall'. I don't know if i was doing the right thing but, i tried to remove it but nothing about firewalls showed in the 'add or remove programs'.
I hope someone can help me out :)

Hi,
the Windows Firewall is a component of windows, you cannot remove it.
try another website to see the result.
check your connection settings.
try to create a new connection to see if this solves yor problem.
