Mine three! I think we're screwed since the graphic circuits are integrated on the MB. Anyone with a different opinion?

My DV6000 does the same thing. Has something to do with the solder on the one of the video components integrated in the motherboard. It would be cheaper to buy a new laptop and use this one for target practice.
Mine does the beep B E E P B E E P deal. What I do to get mine to work is set it between two pillows and press the power button. Let it run for about 10-15 minutes between the pillows and then do a hard reboot. Hard reboot is where you press and hold the power button for a few seconds and the unit shuts off. Press power again and let it boot. You'll know if it worked because you wont get the beeping and you'll see your HP logo pop up. It should work fine till you shut it off over night and let it cool. You might get lucky like i did and it will work fine for a week and act up again.
There are videos on youtube that show you how to fix this problem by taking it apart and heating the motherboard with a heat gun you can buy at harbor freight tools or some place like that. I dont know the exact details of the process but It wouldnt hurt to try. I'm just going to wait till i get a new notebook and then i'll give it a shot. if it works i'll sell it, if not target practice !!!
