Hello,

I have an old laptop that i want to take the files off of and transfer them to my new computer. I took the internal hard drive out of my old laptop and put it into a hard drive enclosure, and connected the enclosure to my new laptop.

But i have two problems,

First, no files are shown to be on the hard drive (Unhiding files and folders option doesn't help). And second, in "Computer" the old hard drive is shown to have a capacity of only 40GB, but it is a 160GB hard drive.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Configuration: Windows Vista
Safari 528.16

Get a 20 lb weight and drop it from about 4 feet on both of the hard drives two to three times. That usually fixes problems like the one you are experiencing. Have a nice day!
