To insert an image in the FAQ
Inserting screenshots can help to understand an explanation. Here is how to improve tips on Kioskea (FAQ).
For this trick, we opted to use the site Imageshack.us.
Note: Your image must be
PNG, JPG or GIF format and must not exceed a weight of 100 Kb.
Method
- With your Internet browser, visit http://imageshack.us/
- Select the image with the button «Browse» (steps 1, 2 and 3 of the image below). As the case may be, you check the box:
- «Url» for an image from another website (in this case, remember to respect the copyright).
- Click on «Host it» and wait (step 4 of the picture below).
- On the screen which appears now, copy the address given in line «Direct link to image» : this is the last line (See Step 5 on the image below).
- Now paste this line in the FAQ without forgetting:
- to place in doubles brackets
- to add Image: After the first double-brackets and address of the image.
- This gives you:
- After validation (click on «Add»), the image appears in your Tip:

Where to find images?
You may have noticed that most of tips are illustrated with images.
- Be careful of using images you have rights or authors have given them.
- The easiest way is to use images licensed CreativeCommons (cc), licence compatible with that one of en.kioskea.
- You just have to go on http://search.creativecommons.org/, Tab "Flickr" and to use keywords (for example «hard» or «harddrive» for images of hard disks, «USB»/«USB disk»,«Flashdisk» for USB keys, «lock» for images of locks, etc.).
- You can also use http://www.compfight.com/, thinking to check the «Only Search Creative Commons».
