Disactivate the command autorun






Autorun is a command application which takes automated action during the insertion of CD-ROM etc. This feature is designed to boost up an installer once a floppy drive is inserted. However this may be a problem as once the compact disc is placed in the cd –drive , same is boot automatically thus can even boot a portable virus.

To disactivate autorun , enter the below command in the registry :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/CDRom

To disactivate autorun:
Autorun = 0

For reactivation:
Autorun = 1
