Optimizing Windows boot process.

Click on the start menu.

Open the run tab.

Type in sysedit and press OK.

This should open the System configuration editor, and in the C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT panel, type in the following command: LH C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE, this will improve the hard disk memory cache monitoring when starting Windows.

Save the modifications and restart your PC.

Note that this command line is not set up as default on Windows XP.

C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT file is automatically loaded when Windows start up. By adding to the C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE command line to it, this will result in the execution of the command.

Be careful to avoid any modifications in the other panels , this could severely affect your system.
