[VIRUS] - Unable to apply Hidden Files/Folders





Issue


When I click "Show hidden files" in “Folder Options” and apply, there’s no change
it still doesn’t show me any hidden file!

Then I tried scanning using trojanRemover software which tells me about a POLICY "Shockwave.dll" and that is forcing to keep hidden files hidden...

I think some unknown virus/trojan might have got into my system and is hiding somewhere....

Solution


There is a virus in your pc. You won’t be able to "Show Hidden File” because this threat is not allowing to show your hidden files!
Please use a good Antivirus, I will advise you using Eset Nod 32 Antivirus
Then try this:
  • Go to Run (in start menu)
  • Type "regedit", Press OK
  • On the right pane, just click on the "+" sign to expand the list
  • Go to this path by expanding the list one by one:


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersionÂ-\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
  • Now at this point look in the right side pan, there is a entry named.. "Checked value"

double click on it
  • Now change this "Checked value" to 1
  • Click OK


I think this will be enough.....it works 100%!
