Windows cannot find regsvr.exe

i am getting this error while opening the C: from My Computer
Windows cannot find regsvr.exe


Solution


This is a very common problem which most users are getting. This problem is due to an infection, the regsvr.exe virus! You always get this when starting the computer!

Please follow these steps to remove this error:
  • Click on Start > Run
  • Type regedit
  • Press CTRL+F > Find/search for regsvr.exe
  • Delete entries that you find for regsvr.exe (be careful do not change other files like regsvr.exe)
  • Then Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
  • On the right pane, you will notice Shell
  • Modify and delete regsvr.exe, make sure that the value key is Explorer.exe


Now this will fix the problem!!
