Connect an Xbox to internet
Issue
How to connect Xbox to the internet?
Solution
- Getting different information from your current connection
- To do this, go to Start> Run> Type cmd> type: ipconfig /all
- NB. Note all these details
- From these information, we will assign the IP of each machine. For example, if we have an IP address as follows:
192.168.0.1
- Then your computer's IP is: 192.168.0.2
- That your xbox is: 192.168.0.3
- If you have another machine: 192.168.0.4
- and so on ... (keep in mind the hierarchy to avoid any mistakes)
- Open the following ports used by Xbox
- This can be done directly on the admin of your router or if the interface configuration of your ISP.
Port UDP 88
Port UDP 3074
Port TCP 3074
- Remember to give the correct IP of your console.
- Disable DHCP on your router
- DHCP assigns IP randomly. So, your Xbox will never have the same IP on every boot. Restart your router.
- Manually assign an IP to each machine
- For a PC, you must go to Control Panel> Network Settings> Go into your connection properties> Select Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) and click on properties. Generally, obtaining the Ip is in automatic mode. We will have assigned an IP manually. To do this, take the information you have noted. Enter the IP address that you have prepared in advance for your PC. Enter the default subnet mask, gateway and DNS. Validate all. Restart your PC.
- Going on the interface of Xbox console
- In the System tab, under network settings. You must change your IP as your PC (use the IP that you previously assigned to your Xbox). Also modify your DNS. Validate all and test your connection.
- And normally you will get the status to OPEN NAT level of your Xbox.
