In fact all operating system possess flaws and bugs due to programming errors and this also applicable for Microsoft Windows.
Most of the PC a sold with Windows versions that doesn’t contain the latest security updates. These flaws allow PC pirates and viruses to remotely access your PC and run harmful features on your PC.
The main issue remains that viruses are constantly trying to access your system and that you will not even have the time to run Windows Update to have the latest security features.
To limit the risk of being infected:
Have Service Pack 2 installed and with Windows firewall active.
Have a personal firewall like Zone Alarm or equivalent installed.
Apply security settings on your router.
It is important that you have all necessary updates and softwares installed on your pc via a USB pendrive or from CD support, before connecting to the internet.
