Windows refuse to Logon




Issue



When logging on Windows,you get the following error message "your domain name and your password is incorrect, please try again".

Solution


It is possible to fix this via the registry by modifying the following key.
  • Go to Start> Run
  • To access it: type "regedit"
  • Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon.
  • Simply create or edit the following string values:
    • DefaultDomainName: domain name or computer name by default
    • DefaultUserName: username by default
    • DefaultPassword: password by default
    • AutoAdminLogon: 1
