Issue


The “Show Desktop” icon on the quick launch bar is lost? This icon is very useful when you want to access your desktop quickly when so many applications and windows are opened! The main cause of this problem is when it is accidentally deleted!

Solution


To fix this problem you will have to rebuild this option!
Please note that this tip can be used for Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7
Follow these steps:
  • Click on Start > Run
  • Type: Notepad
  • Press Enter
  • Copy and paste these codes in your new text file:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
  • Save it as Show Desktop.scf
  • Now right click on your taskbar and select “Unlock Taskbar”
  • Drag the Show Desktop.scf file to the quick launch region!


Here it is, now you will be able to quickly switch to your desktop while you are working!
