Speeding up the Windows startup with Bootvis
Microsoft offers a tool called BootVis to optimize the speed of Windows startup: Download bootVis.

To run an optimization, simply click on the "Trace" menu and then click Next boot + Driver.
Bootvis will prompt you to restart the computer.
After rebooting, Bootvis is restarted automatically and displays statistics on the activities of the computer to boot in graphical form.
It is possible to optimize the work done at startup by clicking on "Trace" menu and selecting "Optimize System".

Disable Indexing Service
The Indexing Service make use of a lot if computing resources.
- To disable it:
- Start Menu
- Click on Run
- Type services.msc
- Right click on "Indexing Service" and click "Properties"
- In "Startup Type", select "Disable"
- Click Apply, then OK
