How to record a video with a webcam?

Filming with free software

Upon installing the drivers of your new webcam , you may have noticed that a small utility allowing you to record video through your webcam , is also installed. Though the video quality may not be great , it is quite a useful feature.

You can also choose to save your video with Windows Movie Maker, by using the "capture from video device" option. From there you can improve or edit recorded sequence.

On a Mac, iMovie can also record of a video from a webcam. Note that, however, not all webcams are not compatible with iMovie.
Don't forget to set out the parameters of your camera (brightness, sharpness, etc..) To get a picture as clean as possible.

Using a specific software

There are many programs that have been designed for recording a movie using a webcam. Among them, WebcamMax, which allows you to add effects in real time.
Otherwise, you can make use of Quickcam. it is easy to use, very efficient and less expensive than WebcamMax.
