[Vista] Accessing advanced firewall












Windows Vista has two firewalls. The first one is also available in XP, via security center or control panel.

The second one, called Windows Firewall with Advanced Security on local computer is only accessibleto system administrators and allows the configuration of inbound and outbound rules.


Accessing it:
  • From Start menu
    • To open the firewall, go to the Start Menu and type: Windows Firewall with Advanced Security in the search bar.
  • Using the Run feature
    • Then type the following command: wf.msc in the run tab.
  • The Firewall will be displayed.
