Determine which version of Windows, you are using [32 or 64 bits]






Want to know if your Windows is in 32 or 64 bit?

Method 1

  • Start
  • Run
  • Enter command:

 winver
  • Ok



Look in the banner at the top of the window. If it is not clearly mentioned 64-bit, your OS is by default: 32 bits.

Method 2

  • Right click on "Computer"
  • Properties
  • A window opens where it is mentioned 32 or 64 bits.
  • If nothing is mentioned,most of the time it's a 32 bit version.





Note that :XP 32 bit is an NT version 5.1, but the 64-bit version of NT 5.2.

Method 3 (Vista and 7)

  • Click the Start button
  • Control Panel
  • System
  • Maintenance
  • System

Under System tab, you can find the type of system: 32 or 64 bits.
