[MSN Messenger] Delete contacts on the red list
Windows Live Messenger does not allow you to remove someone from the red list.
Indeed, an undesired contacts will still appear your contact list, the "delete" box is not accessible. Thus, it is impossible to remove the contacts in the red list.
There is one solution to this problem, we will make use the instant messenger client aMSN which will allow you to get rid of items in contact List.
Procedure
- Close and exit Windows Live Messenger.
- Install the latest version of aMSN.
- Launch aMSN, then make the connection.
- Click on Account from the menu bar, then select Preferences.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Red list in Windows Live Messenger corresponds to the list of people blocked.
- Make a left-click to select the contact to delete.
- Right click on the contact and then select Remove from this list.
- Repeat process for each contact to delete.
- Confirm with Save.
- Disconnect your account and then exit aMSN.
- Run Windows Live Messenger.
- Check Red List in the privacy tab.
- The contacts on the red list will finally disappeared!
Notes
- You will find the software aMSN different boards and different colors assigned to certain contacts.
- The list of authorized persons corresponds to the green list of Windows Live Messenger.
- Contacts colored in yellow are those that you have deleted from your contacts list, but not blocked.
- Contacts colored in red are those that have deleted you from their contact lists.
- However, it is important to note that contacts colored red are not necessarily the contacts that you have deleted from their list.
- The reversed list represented all contacts, they are blocked and / or deleted.
- Uninstalling aMSN will not be affected after the operation, the contacts on the red list will be permanently deleted from Windows Live Messenger.
- To connect to the software aMSN, just use the same username and password that are used by Windows Live Messenger.
- It is important to exit Windows Live Messenger before running aMSN (vice versa). Both software can't work together.
