To uninstall Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6, follow these steps:

Add/Remove Programs

First, disable the program, then uninstall via Add/Remove Programs (located in the Control Panel).

Getting rid of Spybot-S & D 1.6

If you want to get rid of Spybot S & D 1.6 (or earlier version) ,add/remove program will not suffice, you can delete the installation folder (usually C: \ Program Files \ Spybot - Search & Destroy \), then this very small fix and execute it (important - it will remove anything that remains in the registry) (this also applies to previous versions).

Copy the following code into a text file (. Txt) and change its extension to .Reg (spybot.reg name for example)

• If you just want to upgrade to a newer version, follow the same instructions and then install the new version.
• After following these instructions please restart your system for the changes to take effect.
• A folder needs to be removed manually:

  • Windows ME: C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\
  • Windows NT, 2000 ou XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\
  • Windows Vista: C:\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroy\

(Note: this Application Data folder is hidden. So if you do not find it, make sure you requested the display of hidden files).
