A new feature in Windows 7 is the maintenance center, similar to the security center in Windows XP and Vista, it includes more options and can handle issues,

like: manage backup, updates, ...
Accessing the Maintenance center

To Start the maintenance center, just double click on the flag icon in the notification area.


If no problem is identified

The maintenance center opens. If no problem is identified, the Safety and Maintenance parts are closed.
You can open this option if you want more information on the status of your PC.

You can, from there, go to System Restore and troubleshooting to find and correct potential problems.

If the maintenance center has detected a problem

In case of problems, the icon of the maintenance center has a cross.

By double clicking on it, the maintenance center opens, and the sign that indicates the problem is deployed.
Depending on the severity of the problem, the banner change of color (e.g red,when the antivirus is off) and a solution is indicated.
