Activating Aero on Vista

Windows Aero a user interface built in Windows Vista. The Aero is a new look which provides smoother and firm desktop experience.

Some Features of Aero:

• Glass – Translucent effect on window borders and menus

Dynamic Windows:

• This occurs when minimizing a window, a smooth animation!

High dots-per-inch (dpi):

• For monitors with high resolutions

Live taskbar thumbnails:

• An option which shows you a thumbnail image on the taskbar of the program you are running when placing the cursor on the program title.

Smoother – Performing desktop:

• This opens windows slide on your screen

Minimum Requirements

To use Aero, the computer must meet a minimum hardware configuration, namely:

• 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) 1 GHz.
• 1 GB RAM
• Support for DirectX 9 graphics card with WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits per pixel.

Furthermore, it is necessary to have Windows Vista Premium to enjoy all the features of the Aero interface.

Activate Aero on Vista Basic

However, it is possible to activate certain features of the Aero interface on Vista Basic by following these steps:
Start/Run/
Regedit
Search

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM

In the right pane:
Double-click on Membership, the value 1 (hexadecimal)
Double-click on Membership Policy, the value 2 (hexadecimal)
Restart the session with Administrator privileges
Run the following two commands:

net stop uxsms

net start uxsms

Restart the computer

Activate Aero on Vista Premium

To enable the Aero interface on Vista Premium, just go to
Control Panel> Personalization> Color and appearance of the window
Click on "open classic appearance properties"
Select "Windows Aero" and apply

Enable switches between application

The interface to switch from one application to another with a display is called 3dflip.exe. To use it, you have several options:

Windows + Tab: keep pressing the Windows key and tap the Tab key to scroll through open windows, a window to select two options available to you:
click with the mouse pointer on the desired window
release the Windows key when the desired window is in foreground.
Ctrl + Windows + Tab: Allows you to stay in "blocked" on flip3D to allow you to scroll windows with mouse wheel or the arrow keys. the bottom and right arrows allow you to scroll forward and back arrows left and backwards.
for not having to remember all these shortcuts you can have this option in the Quick Launch area "at the bottom left in the bar near the symbol (formerly known as start)
Finally, if you want the shortcut on your desktop (or drag the quick launch area) create it as follows:
Right-click on the desktop shortcut and then again. In "Enter the location of the item" enter the command RunDll32 DwmAPI # 105, do the following and give the name of your choice and then finish.
