Show what you are listening to on MSN/WLM

When we are connected to instant messaging Windows Live Messenger, it is possible to display and use in personal message, the music heard in our favorite player.

To do this, simply activate the option via Windows Live Messenger. Click on the arrow to the right of your personal message (where it is notified "Enter your personal message), then check" Show what I am listening to. "


Once the operation carried out in the Windows Live Messenger, simply activate the media player by using the option or plug-in that will display the music heard.

Windows Media Player

• Open Windows Media Player.
• Click on "Tools" and then "Plug-ins".
• Then check the box "module extension of personal musical message."
• Depending on the version of Messenger used, the plug-in can also turn to be named "Plug-in Message Me Music for Windows Live Messenger."

The Winamp Player

• Close then restart Winamp. By default, MessengerAmp will be activated.
• Go to Options then Preferences.
• Since the "Winamp Preferences" tab, search for Plug-ins General then left.
• Double-click MessengerAmp to access this plug-in. It is thus possible to disable the option.

The VLC Media Player

• Open player VLC Media Player.
• Click on "Tools", then "Preferences."
• Select "All" via the settings to display preferences complete player.
• Expand the "Interfaces", then choose "Control Interfaces"
• Check "MSN currently playing" and then save.

The Foobar 2000 player

• Download the plug-in whose information page is here
• Unzip Foo_wlm.zip and place foo_wlm.dll in the folder C:\Program Files\foobar2000\components (or other folder where by Foobar is installed)
• Run foobar. The plugin options are available here in the preferences (Files> Preferences or CTRL + P)
• Enable now playing PSM to be sent to Windows Live Messenger,option should be checked.
