Internet Explorer cache







When you browse the Web, your browser makes web pages in a cache, i.e. it stores the pages, images and other files on your PC.

With this cache, your browser will no longer have to download each visit, (or) page (s) Web, because they are already on the hard disk. Put the cached pages therefore accelerates navigation (especially if you visit several times the same page). However, storage of files take up space on your disk.

Cache Levels in Internet Explorer


Internet Explorer consists of 4 levels of cache.
To change these settings, pull down the Tools menu, then Internet Options, General tab.
In the Temporary Internet Files, click Settings.


• At each visit of the page: When you visit a Web page, Internet Explorer verifies whether a copy of this page is cached. If the copy is in the cache and matches the page on the Web, Internet Explorer will display the updated version in the cache.

• At each start Internet Explorer: When you visit a Web page, IE checks if the cache a copy of this page during the current session. If no page in the cache from the last session, IE load the page from the Web.


• Automatically: See method. But it saves the pages you visit and count the frequency of their consultation.

• Never: You do recall that what is contained in the cache. The first time you visit a Web page, this page is saved in the cache. You must press F5 to update.

Change the size of Internet cache


To change the size of the Internet cache, pull down the Tools menu, then Internet Options, General tab.
In the Temporary Internet Files, click Settings.

In the "Temporary Internet Files Folder", increase or decrease the disk space to use.
Then click OK. Your changes are validated.

Clear the internet Cache


Sometimes in your Internet cache, hiding a virus or bug harmful. Thus, it should clear your Internet cache to remove.
