Using visual styles (themes) on Windows XP
A theme in principle includes a visual style (the appearance of windows, the taskbar and menus), desktop icons, wallpaper, the mouse, and a screen saver.
If Microsoft has provided the opportunity to change the style ( "Luna" by default), in practice it is locked. To then apply the style of your choice, you must change a system file, thanks to the following free tools (Style XP software can also do this, but you must pay for it):
Download a style in the directory "
C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes" and select it in display properties, appearance tab. Some sites where there are many themes:

You want to change your default XP theme to the Royal Theme:
