[ShellExView] Cutting menus
ShellExView is a small program that lets you enable or disable the menus. This is very useful if you have any problems with the right-click (for example, your PC locks up when you right-click on a file type).
You can even use it to alleviate the menus by eliminating unnecessary entries.
Three columns are important:
- Extension Names: The name of the entry, it usually contains the name of the application that is integrated into the menu contexuel.
- Disabled: displays the status of the entry (Yes, that entry is disabled)
- File Extensions: Extensions (or element type: file, directory, component system, ... etc) for which the entry is valid.
- Type: the type of entry. We distinguish:
- Context Menu: The menus for files and directories.
- Shell Folder: the elements of the system such as the Recycle Bin and Control Panel item.
- Property Sheet: concerns the properties of elements.
- Browser Helper Object: refers to the context menu of Internet Explorer.
You can click on one of these columns to sort the entries in the order desired.
You can also use the search function of the software (Edit> Find) to find an entry quickly.
- Select one or more entries (use the CTRL).
-To disable an entry, right-click it and choose Disable Selected Items.
-To activate an entry, right-click it and select Enable Selected Items.
