Import contacts from Excel to Outlook
Issue
How to import a contact list from Excel to Outlook and having them in a single list of contact , and not as splited items?
Solution
By using the software Excel 2000 and Outlook 2000
Method
- When you are in the Excel file: add a column "Category" and put in "professional" or anything else, when it corresponds to a category in Outlook
- Appoint its range cell
- Open Outlook Express
If you do not want all these items to be spited in the "Contacts",create in it a specific folder and follow the import procedure, but do not forget to do the mapping by clicking on the button " custom fields"and to associate the category field of the file to the Outlook.
- After the successful import, create a mailing list in the new folder containing the imported contacts
- For select the new members, look in the Contacts folder by sorting by category: display all new
- Select the first and the last contacts holding Shift key: it selects all the
- Click on "Add"
