Write an automatic message in Outlook / Thunderbird

You go on vacation and want to inform your interlocutors. Outlook and Mozilla integrate their solutions in the opportunity to respond automatically. Please note, these features do not work only if you are using a corporate server.
Write an automated message with Microsoft Outlook

Outlook allows you to easily set your email to send an automatic message to your correspondents.
Open Outlook and go to the menu:
  • Tools> Manager Out of Office> check "I am currently out of office."
  • Write when your away message.

When you return, you will just have to check "I am office manager in your absence.
Write an automated message with Mozilla Thunderbird

The procedure is slightly more complicated with Mozilla Thunderbird.

You must first create a new message, then save as a template.

Then open the following menus:
  • Tools> Message Filters> New> Run these actions> meet with the model
  • Select the template you just created.

Then check the "valid for all the filters and virtual folders"

Now, you just created an automated response.
