Stop waiting for network response when booting your PC
When you start your Windows XP, it automatically read the IP address on your network and this can block your PC for a while. To solve this problem, you have two options:
First Solution
Disable all your network cards before turning off the PC and then reactivate if necessary. To do this:
Go to Control Panel> Network Connection
Right click on your active network adapter> Disable
Second Solution
Disable the reading of the IP address when booting the PC. This requires a modification of the Registry:
Backup your registry database if necessary.
Open the Registry Editor
Locate the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Double click
DWORD Value SyncForegroundPolicy and set it to
0
