Creating a Boot disk on XP
A boot disk is a removable storage medium from which a computer can load the OS or utility program. .
You can need a boot disk for several reasons:
- Installing the OS.
- Data recovery.
- Data purging.
- Hardware or software troubleshooting.
To create a DOS startup disk (boot disk) on Windows XP:
- Go to My Computer
- Right-click the floppy drive and then select "Format".
- A new option is now available to create a DOS boot diskette.
