Normalize / equalize the volume of MP3
Have you ever had MP3 files of different volumes or quality?
It is possible to normalize the volume of MP3, ie to adjust their volume (amplifier / booster or decrease), with the software MP3Gain.
This software allows you to modify a selection (playlist) MP3 and change the sound of each file on the fly. To do this:
- Download MP3Gain
- Run MP3Gain
- Select the files to normalize by pressing CTRL
- Click the "Track Analysis" to calculate the volume in decibels of each MP3
MP3Gain offers an average you can adjust. The volume default is usually the ideal volume.
Click the right arrow button and select Track Gain Gain constant
Click on the button to launch Gain constant normalizing MP3s.
Note
The software is content to add information in the tags file, this manipulation is therefore no impact on the quality of your MP3 and you can easily reverse your decision if the result does not suit you.
The process can be quite long or very long depending on the power of your machine and the size of your collection (for a collection of 20 GB, allow 2 hours on a dual-core processor).
